Privacy Policy

How Future Planner Careers collects, uses, and protects your information.

Last updated: August 20, 2026

1. Who we are

Future Planner Careers, Inc. is a Section 501(c)(3) charitable organization, EIN 41-3395504. This policy explains what personal information we collect through our website, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions can be sent to info@futureplannercareers.org.

2. Information you give us

We collect information you submit directly, including:
  • Intern applications — name, contact details, education history, work eligibility, transcripts, resumes, and any other materials you upload.
  • Firm and partnership inquiries — your name, firm name, role, email, phone, and details about your hiring needs.
  • Contact and interest forms — the information in the form fields, plus anything you include in a message.
  • Email sign-ups — your email address and any preferences you select.
  • Donations — donation amount and the contact details you provide. Payment card details are handled by our payment processor and are never stored on our servers.

3. Information collected automatically

When you visit the site we and our analytics providers may collect standard technical data: IP address, browser and device type, referring page, pages viewed, and time on site. This is used to understand how the site is used and to improve it.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies to operate the site, remember preferences, and measure traffic. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies; some parts of the site may not work correctly if you do. Where required by law, we will ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies.

5. Email marketing

If you subscribe to our mailing list, we use a third-party email marketing platform to store your address and send messages about the internship program, events, webinars, and organizational news.
  • Your email address and engagement data (whether a message was opened, and which links were clicked) are stored by that platform on our behalf.
  • We use this only to send you relevant communications and to measure whether they are useful.
  • You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any message, or by emailing us. Unsubscribing stops marketing email; we may still contact you about an application or inquiry you submitted.
  • We do not sell or rent your email address.

6. How we use your information

We use personal information to operate the internship program, review and match applications, communicate with candidates and firms, process and acknowledge donations, send communications you have asked for, improve the site, and meet legal and reporting obligations.

7. When we share information

We do not sell personal information. We share it only as follows:
  • With participating firms — candidate materials are shared with host firms for the purpose of matching and hiring.
  • With service providers — website hosting, email marketing, form processing, analytics, and payment processing, each acting on our instructions.
  • Where required by law — to comply with a legal obligation or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

8. Third-party services

Our site links to and embeds third-party services, which may include payment and donation processors, webinar and video platforms, form tools, and analytics providers. Their handling of your information is governed by their own privacy policies, not this one.

9. Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, and as required for legal, accounting, and reporting obligations. Application materials may be retained so we can consider candidates for future cycles unless you ask us to delete them.

10. Your choices and rights

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and you may opt out of marketing email at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act. California residents may request disclosure of the categories of personal information collected and request deletion, and will not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. To make a request, email info@futureplannercareers.org.

11. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Children’s privacy

The site and our programs are intended for adults, generally college students and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted here, and the “last updated” date above will be revised.

14. Contact us
